The Greater-Accra Regional branch of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has appealed to its dedicated members to boycott demonstrations by the Coalition of Concerned Teachers of GNAT and the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT). A statement issued by the regional branch of GNAT and signed by its Vice Chairman, Mr Yamoah George Asare, also urged members to protect all property belonging to the Association from "questionable characters who would want to capitalize on the migration of teachers onto the single spine salary structure to cause mayhem." The Association pointed out that inasmuch as it respected the democratic rights of individuals to demonstrate, "on no account should any well-meaning member of GNAT make any attempt to destroy any property of the Association". It assured members of the Coalition that their concerns were being addressed by GNAT. Source: GNA
