Goil, as part of its corporate social responsibility drive for 2013, provided potable drinking water in the form of mechanised boreholes for select communities in Ga West and Ga South.
The oil marketing company did this in partnership with the Soroptimists Club of Accra.
The commissioning and handing over of the mechanised boreholes to the three facilities to three communities - Amamole, Amanfrom and Adjika on December 30 last year, brings to 8, the number of such water facilities which Goil has provided to deprived communities during 2013.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Mr. Cyril Opon, Corporate Affairs Manager of Goil, said the Company is committed to helping the smallest deprived communities which would otherwise not easily qualify for Government help for such a basic necessity of life.
Mrs. E. Simpson Ekuban, the President of the Soroptimists Club, hoped that the provision of mechanised boreholes would make it easier for the girl-child to finish their daily household chores, and attend school.
