The Golden Tulip Accra has announced it will be hosting the maiden edition of Selewa African Market on May 1, Worker’s Day, on its hotel premises.
This is in collaboration with Melon Concepts, promoters of the Selewa Market pop-up market concept.
The market will feature a selection of vendors from Ghana and across the West African sub-region stocking contemporary African wear and fabrics.
There will also have dealers in hand-made beads, footwear, bags, natural skin and hair products, the finest selection of African paintings and sculpture pieces and so much more.
The Assistant Sales and Marketing Manager Solomon Wollie Wollimoh, in an interview, spoke of his delight about the upcoming event.
“We are excited to be associated with this event as an African-style hotel providing a safe haven for both business and leisure travelers. We embrace ideas that will add value to the services we offer and we believe the Selewa African Market will be a perfect complement.
"We are offering our guests the opportunity to shop for the finest collection of authentic African goods right here in the comfort of their favorite hotel,” he said.
According to the Food and Beverage Manager, Marshall Otu, "this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the best from Africa by way of Fashion, Food and Music.
"We will like to leverage this market to expose the general public to our extensive à la carte menu of continental and Ghanaian cuisine and our themed buffet services”
The Selewa African Market is the fifth market event to be organized by Melon Concepts over the last two years with the latest of the being a three-day Beach Market at the La Pleasure beach, Accra.
The market hosted over 75 vendors including celebrated brands like We Naturals, Eya Naturals, Ojeanne Clothing, PinUp Queens, Danique Beauty, Fabulocity and Enam African Collections
Just like past Selewa markets, the Selewa African Market promises to be an exciting shopping experience for exhibitors and customers. It is a one stop place where quality, authentic African goods at discounted prices offered in a serene atmosphere, filled with fun and good live band music.
It’s the perfect occasion to shop and socialize while treating yourself to exquisite cuisine and drinks from the Golden Tulip Accra. Admission is free.
