Mr Martin Amidu, Minister of the Interior, has said that the government has approved funds for the completion of 38 offices and residential accommodation projects for the Ghana Police Service in the 2010 budget.
He said police stations would also be provided in Asuosu and Afrancho, in the Offinso North District and South Municipality.
Mr Amidu made this known when he answered questions at the floor of Parliament.
According to him, the opening of more police stations and police districts offices are contingent upon availability of resources.
The police administration has therefore adopted the policy of encouraging communities and district assemblies to establish police stations to help maintain security.
He said the Offinso South is expected to benefit from the Suppliers Credit Financing Agreement between the Government of Ghana and STX Engineering and Construction Ghana Limited project to provide accommodation to the security services in the municipality.
