Government has officially handed over the uncompleted affordable housing projects, including those at Borteman to the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) for completion.
Government is seeking partnership with the private sector to complete the affordable housing project it started in order to partly address the housing deficit in the country.
The project, which was started by the erstwhile Kufour administration in 2008, has since not been completed.
The housing units, Borteman Housing Project, in Greater Accra region and Asokore Mampong Housing Project in the Ashanti region, are expected to deal with the huge housing deficits in the country.
Joy News' Fred Smith, who was at the symbolic handing over ceremony at Borteman on Tuesday, reported that the ministry of Works and Housing handed over the uncompleted houses to SSNIT because it was struggling to raise the needed funds to complete the project.
Meanwhile, not much has changed on the houses, Fred Smith indicated since his visit last year.
He said majority of the buildings, which were already being worked on by real estate company, E6 Homes, remained the same.
However, four unit buildings allocated to the military have been completed by the security institution.
