Government says it hopes to make funds available to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice to carry out its activities.

This follows complaints by CHRAJ it is unable to give timelines on investigations into the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority, SADA and other corruption allegations due to lack of funds.

CHRAJ Commissioner Laurreta Lamptey told Joy News the commission is challenged with the unavailability of funds.

"We are hampered by resources to complete our investigation but its ongoing in spite of the challenges. When we complete and close the investigations there will be something to be shared with the media," she told Joy News.

Deputy Finance Minister, Ato Forson admits this year has been very challenging but says priority has been given to CHRAJ and other anti-corruption agencies in the 2014 budget.

He said the budget was bold on issues of transparency and anti corruption initiatives.

"We made a number of good proposals in there. Some of the measures proposed in this budget are predicted on a strong and decisive fight against corruption. CHRAJ is a major player in this," he stated.
