Deputy Tourism Minister, Kobby Acheampong has said the government is still looking into concerns over the removal of a tax holiday for players in the hospitality sector. The Government withdrew the tax concession in the 2011 budget as part of its drive to boost national revenue. But players in the hospitality sector say it will discourage investments.Mr Kobby Acheampong told Joy News the concerns are being considered. He said the Tourism Ministry together with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre had petitioned the Ministry of Finance and Parliament to reconsider the cancellation of the tax-break that was granted the hospitality industry. He hopes Parliament which approved the cancellation will take a second look at the decision and the concerns that have been raised by industry players.Source: Joy News/Ghana
