The skipper of the Sylli Nationale says the game against Ghana on Sunday should not be seen as an opportunity to seek revenge against Ghana.
For them, the focus would be the same as that for the group stages where they had to dig deep to progress against some of the biggest football names on the continent.
“I don’t see that as a revenge game. It is a big opportunity for us as players to do something great for our country and ourselves. We played well against them in the qualifiers and they were very tough games. I don’t expect the game on Sunday to be any different. We just need to concentrate and focus on our game. That is the only way we can progress," he said.
Guinea has struggled to replicate the form of the famous 1970 side but have been inspired by the human losses suffered from the Ebola virus which hit the nation hard.
The Black Stars on the other hand would attempt to make it to the semi-final for the fifth straight tournament after Ghana 08, Angola 2010, Gabon/Equatorial Guinea 2012 and South Africa 2013.
