The inductees qualified for induction after having successfully completed the StandOut Women’s Leadership Programme - an innovative leadership programme designed to help them strengthen the leadership effectiveness of African women leaders.
The induction of Ghanaians into the network also marked its launch in the country.
“As members of the StandOut Women’s Leadership Network, you are now part of an illustrious network of women leaders from Africa who are dedicated to leveraging their leadership for the good of others,” Hansen-Quao said.
She reminded them that from now “it is no longer about you but about others so make sure that your leadership has a positive effect on your followers, your organisation and society as a whole.”
“Africa needs us, so let’s do our part to make sure she rises,” she added.

The guests of honour and guest speakers at the ceremony, organised in Accra, were Mrs Mawuena Trebah, the CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Council (GIPC), and Mrs Pearl Essua-Mensah, the Deputy Managing Director of UT Bank.
The StandOut Women’s Leadership Programme is an executive enrichment programme for women leaders from the public, private and community sectors. The programme features practical workshops, executive coaching and a network of support and opportunities.
It is also designed to meet personal or organisational leadership development and skills acquisition needs.
An inductee, Mrs Patience Akyianu, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Barclays Bank Ghana, commended the StandOut Women’s Leadership Programme for providing women leaders a platform for enrichment, peer learning and support.
