Who say hi-life music no dey sweet? e dey sweet papa. You couldn’t have just missed this for anything in the world! Ask, and you will be told that it was a fantabulous night!
It was the first edition of the Joy FM Hi-life Party (with the strong backing of Hi-life Festival Ghana) and the venue was the Poolside of the plush Alisa Hotel – a place where you can dance and not wallow away in the pain of not dancing yourself into heavenly glory.
The nation’s number one radio station, Joy 99.7 FM, was at it again ready to give back to its numerous listeners, and yes they came. It was difficult to count the numbers but the eye alone can tell you that they filled all available spaces at the Alisa hotel.
It was the guitar maestro, Ackah Blay and the band for the night who were busy dishing out the sweet jazzy melodies of authentic hi-life music in welcoming the hundreds trooping to the venue for this real definition of a hi-life music fiesta.
When the performances started, it was the 50-year old, Ali Baba Foster who set a glowing night ablaze and set the stage for lovely night.
Interestingly, the revelers at the venue were not new to the tunes this hi-life ‘fine boy’ was dishing out but as to who takes the first bold step to the dance floor was the problem. People were just feeling shy to dance!
Then there cometh forth these two bold ladies, or let me say woman, who had a facial expression that said “the feet could not stay away any longer.”
The two gently and beautifully started moving their lovely bodies to rhythms coming from the hi-life ‘man in suit’. Ali Baba really brought back memories.
