Jamestown came alive over the weekend as thousands gathered for the MoMo Fest Artiste Night, one of the highlights of this year’s Homowo Festival.
The open-air concert blended music, culture, and community spirit, drawing residents, visitors, and music lovers to celebrate the Ga people’s rich traditions while enjoying top-tier entertainment.
The night featured electrifying performances from Fameye, Mr Drew, OlivetheBoy, King Jerry, DJ Juicy, and DJ Lord OTB, who thrilled the crowd with hit songs and danceable rhythms.

From soulful renditions to energetic beats, the artistes kept the audience on their feet, creating an unforgettable atmosphere that fused modern music with traditional Homowo vibrancy.
MTN Ghana, the headline sponsor of MoMo Fest, added an innovative edge to the celebration by setting up service stands across Jamestown.
Festivalgoers accessed products, Mobile Money services, SIM replacements and received customer support directly on-site.

Dedicated personnel also educated subscribers on fraud prevention, reinforcing MTN’s commitment to customer safety.
In a unique twist, Mobile Money Limited hosted a lively quiz competition on mobile money fraud awareness.
The contest drew massive participation, especially from young people, and provided practical lessons on detecting and avoiding scams.
The overall winner walked away with a GH¢7,000 cash prize, cheered on by an excited crowd.

Beyond the music and education, attendees experienced traditional displays of drumming, dancing, and storytelling that highlighted the essence of Homowo.
The fusion of indigenous performances with contemporary artistry showcased the resilience of Ghana’s cultural heritage and its ability to evolve across generations.

The Homowo Festival, celebrated annually by the Ga people, commemorates their migration and triumph over famine centuries ago.
Jamestown remains a central hub of the festivities, and the inclusion of MoMo Fest Artiste Night has become a modern attraction that resonates with younger audiences.
Many residents described this year’s event as a “true reflection of Jamestown’s energy and cultural pride,” applauding how it united communities while bridging tradition, technology, and entertainment.

The partnership between MTN and Homowo Festival organisers continues to set the standard for how corporate Ghana can support cultural preservation while driving social and economic impact.
