Residents of Tabora, a suburb of Accra woke up Saturday morning to a shocking discovery of a dead woman confined to a Zoomlion container placed in front of a house.
The deceased, 28, known only as Naomi was said to be blood-stained. The cause of the death is not immediately known.
The mother of the deceased told Joy News reporter Hanna Odame that her daughter had left for work at Anyaa on Friday and had not returned.
On hearing the news of a dead body lying in Tabora, she decided to satisfy her curiosity only to identify her daughter as the victim.
“She went to work but didn’t return. The husband was waiting for her at Lapaz but when we called the phone it was switched off.
“So we heard this morning that something had happened so we said we were coming to verify. Unfortunately it is her,” she narrated, sobbing.
Earlier interactions by Odame with the owner of the house- Faisal, whose precincts the body was found, indicated that he saw the zoomlion container yesterday around 7:00 pm.
But its content was known this morning when the sister-in-law of Faisal was sweeping the house around 6:30 am Saturday.
The police have taken over the body and have begun investigations into the matter.
Naomi is said to be married and left behind a boy who will be one year old in April.
