During his reign as Prime Minister and President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah started an ambitious project to transform then fishing community, Tema, into an industrial city.
By the time he was overthrown more than 30 industries engaged in food processing, textile manufacturing, steel production, among others had been established.
Today majority of them have collapsed leaving the youth jobless.
In the second part of our Hotline Documentary titled TEMA: DECAYING MODERN CITY, Joseph Opoku Gakpo explores what could be done to revamp these industries and provide jobs for the youth.
