Al-Ittihad have officially ended their pursuit of Kevin-Prince Boateng.
The Saudi Arabian giants will no longer sign the Schalke outcast after the midfielder failed to undergo a mandatory medical last week Wednesday.
The 28-year-old had returned to the negotiation table with the side after initially rejecting their offer in favour of a move to Portuguese side Sporting CP which also later broke down due to disagreements over his image rights.
Boateng was scheduled for a medical to be supervised by Bupa Arabia at the Sanitas in Madrid but he refused to show up at the last minute.
The former Milan star had apparently pulled out of the deal the second time following a purported advise from his brother and Bayern Munich defender Jerome.
Both parties remained silent over the new twist which led to wild rumours that the deal was off because the midfielder had failed the already publicized medical.
His agent Federico Pastorello was forced to take to social media to describe the reports as misleading but failed to give out an update on what had transpired.
Now Al-Ittihad Jeddah President Mansour Balawi has publicly confirmed the deal is off because of the suspended Ghana international's inconsistencies.
"Boateng won’t join us. We have to move on since he is not ready," Balawi told reporters in Saudi Arabia.
Boateng is reportedly considering other offers and must find a deal with a new club before the transfer window closes on August 31.
