Accra Hearts of Oak coach David Duncan has told JOY Sports he will not be leaving the club now that the season has ended.
This goes to dispel all speculations that the former Ashgold trainer was unhappy with the former African champions and wanted to quit.
It was widely rumored towards the end of the 2012/2013 premier league season that the outspoken coach was frustrated at not receiving enough support from management of the Phobia fraternity and thus hinted at moving.
But Duncan, who is credited with the turnaround of Hearts Oak, leading them to a fifth place finish, told JOY Sports “I am with Hearts of Oak, I am going nowhere. How many times do you want me to reiterate this? I am going nowhere.”
The 2012/2013 season’s top scorer, Mahatma Otoo with 20 goals emerged from David Duncan’s side and the coach believes “Mahatma Otoo deserves more than praises for his goal scoring techniques. Mahatma is simply unbelievable.
“Words just can’t describe how he takes his goals. These are goals that belong to the sophisticated European leagues, typically for some selected few players in Europe. But he’s been able to display something like that here and that shows his class. He should nick the best player award and any award in that category.”
