Popular local movie star, Agya Koo, has vehemently denied causing the arrest of his wife, Victoria Owusua Adomako to whom he has been married for 17 years. He told Adom FM there had been no misunderstanding between him and his wife, which could lead to him doing something as serious as letting the police arrest her, adding that at the time of the interview, the two of them were sharing a meal together. News broke last Sunday that Agya Koo, real name Alex Kofi Adu, had led some police personnel to arrest Victoria, popularly known as Akua Vic, and one Kojo Adawu, alleged to be her lover at Senya Bereku in the Central Region, for allegedly stealing Agya Koo's car. Adom News’ investigations revealed that the matter was first reported at the Abeka Lapaz police station before the Tesano Police took it up and it was later transferred to the Central Police Station. But speaking on Adom FM’s drive time show, Ofie Kwanso, Agya Koo flat out denied the story saying he had been at his Tabora residence in Accra the whole of Sunday and Monday in preparation for his travel to Israel to pray for Ghana ahead of the 2012 elections. He said the story had been concocted by his detractors to tarnish his hard earned reputation. But Adom News reporters Yaa Ayisa and Yaa Asantewaa who had followed the story refuted Agya Koo’s claims and stuck to their story. Yaa Ayisa told Ofie Kwanso host, Dr Dr Asanka that she went to the Tesano Police station herself on Sunday and saw both Kojo Adawu and Akua Vic behind bars. She continued that she knew Akua Vic very well because they had lived in the same neighbourhood for a long time before relocating so she could not have mistaken her for someone else. On her part, Yaa Asantewaa said she went to the Tesano Police Station Monday morning to follow up on the story and was told that the case had been transferred to the Central Police Station. She said she went to the Central Police Station and saw Agya Koo, in the company of highlife legend, Obuoba J.A. Adofo and his Personal Assistant when they arrived at the Police Station at half past twelve and came out some minutes after with his wife, Akua Vic in tow. She said when she drew closer to talk to them; Agya Koo and his personal assistant confronted her and cautioned her not to record their conversation especially when she took out her phone. Yaa Asantewaa said she later spoke to the Crime Officer of the Greater Accra Police Command, Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Frank Adufati who also confirmed the incident. He however declined to give any details because the parties involved had decided to go and solve the problem at home after some deliberations and he had also promised not to talk to the media about it. Agya Koo was however not too happy with the report and called back onto the show where he had some harsh words for Yaa Asantewaa; calling her a small girl and a class one journalist who was nowhere near a journalist at the BBC or CNN to tell him how he should live his life. He also refused to answer Dr Dr Asanka’s questions based on Yaa Asantewaa’s report. Meanwhile, Kojo Adawu, the alleged lover of Akua Vic who confirmed that he was arrested with the woman said he was not perturbed about the allegations leveled against him and his arrest. He said the most important thing was that he had been released and could go about his normal duties.
