Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu once said, “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”.
Chief of Kumawu Amanfuom is making sense of the quote by encouraging youth in the area to learn a trade for self-reliance rather than rely on others for handouts that only last a few days.
Nana Okyere Baffour advised the youth to look beyond what is beneficial for a day and look to the future.

He said it is worthwhile for young people to learn a vocation that will pay them more in the future.
Nana Baffour was speaking at a job fair in Kumawu that seeks to boost green employment and enterprise opportunities in Ghana.
The GrEEn project aims at creating greater economic and employment opportunities for the youth, women, and returning migrants.

Skills Development Advisor of SNV Ghana GrEEn project, Gifty Afi Cudjoe, stated they are dedicated to supporting the government's efforts at growing businesses and entrepreneurship.
She said as the effects of the climate crisis continue unabated, there is the need to create jobs that can help to tackle the crisis.
"We submit that green jobs and businesses in the circular economy are the solutions to a resilient and sustainable local economy,” she said.

Miss Cudjoe says entrepreneurship in the green economy will be promoted through interactions with seasoned green entrepreneurs to inspire participants to start their own green businesses.
Participants in the Sekyere Kumawu district were furnished with green opportunities to guide their career decisions.

Nana Baffour encourages the youth to make good use of the opportunity to develop themselves into useful entrepreneurs.
He says they should not be left behind in career development since it can change their lives.
