Multiple award-winning musician, Kofi Kinaata says he is very excited about the re-introduction of Music for Development category in this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
According to him, the move is long overdue.
“Recently I heard they’re bringing back the category that awards development songs and I’m very excited.it should have been there a long time ago because I have songs like the coronavirus song. The one on illegal fishing, irregular migration song and others... I am very happy," he told Becky.
The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has brought back the ‘Music for Development’ initiative which rewarded songs that were themed on social and developmental issues. This year, the initiative returns with a new name: Music for Good.
Martin King Arthur hails from the Western Region, and is noted for his unique lyricism and freestyles in the Fante dialect which has earned him the name ‘Fante Rap God.’
Apart from his rap prowess, he has grown into a very good singer taking the highlife genre by storm.
The VGMA 2020 Best Songwriter awardee has a plethora of hits to his credit including ‘Behind the Scenes, ‘Things Fall Apart’ and ‘Susuka’, Behind the Scene, Thy Grace and others
