New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has won the tightly contested 2020 election.
He polled 6,730, 413 which is 51.59% of the total valid cast nationwide on December 7.
His closest contender, John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) polled 6, 214, 889 which gives him 47.36% of the total votes cast.
The Electoral Commissioner, Jean Mensa who is the Returning Officer of the 2020 presidential election announced the results Wednesday.
She added that there results for the Techiman South is outstanding as it is being contested.

However, she noted that even if all those votes are added to the ones obtained by former President Mahama, it will not add up to the 50 plus 1 per cent he needs to win the election.
This is the second defeat Mr Mahama has suffered contesting his former colleague in Parliament.
In 2016, the former Attorney General in the Kufuor administration won in his third attempt at the presidency with 5,774,543 which was 53.58% of the valid votes cast.
Mr Mahama, who was the sitting President then was defeated after he polled 4,814,140 which was 44.67% of the valid votes.
NPP loses key parliamentary seats

At least 28 incumbent NPP MPs have lost their parliamentary seats in Monday’s elections.
Some 21 of them are either ministers of state or deputy ministers.
That is aside from the 41 who lost the NPP primaries earlier this year and thus did not contest in the polls.
