Two women who assaulted and threatened to kill each other have appeared before an Accra Circuit Court.
Henrietta Tsotsoo Kpobi; an accountant, and Rose Atswei; a trader, charged with assault and threats of death, were admitted to GH¢6, 000 bail with a surety each by the court, presided over by Mrs. Georgina Datsa.
They are to reappear before the court on July 4.
Prosecuting, Assistance Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sarah Acquah, told the court that Tsotsoo is married to Atswei’s son and that the two live at Teshie in Accra.
According to ASP Acquah, Tsotsoo’s mother and her son-in-law have been litigating over a house and in April 18 this year, Tsotsoo’s husband went to court and brought summons to serve on his mother-in-law.
When Atswei was served the summons, she became offended, took a saucepan and made unbearable noise in the direction of Tsotsoo's compound, where her husband lives.
Atswei, who has not been on talking terms with Tsotsoo, became furious on seeing her enter her store room.
Ms. Acquah, said when Tsotsoo could not trace the where-about of her husband, she rained insults on her mother-in-law, who retaliated by hitting her with a saucepan and threatening, “if anything happens to my son, I will kill you and your family”.
Later, when they were separated by sympathisers, they both made reports to the police and were charged accordingly.
