President of the now defunct-Normalisation Committee (NC), Dr Kofi Amoah, says it was wrong for Naa Odofoley Nortey to accept an appointment from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) new executives, headed by Kurt Okraku.
Madam Nortey, who was a member of the NC between September 2018 and October 2019, was appointed lawyer of the GFA in December 2019, two months after the presidential election on October 25, 2019.
Dr Amoah reacting to a tweet from JoySports Editor, Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo, which stated that, "They [Normalisation Committee] succeeded in making it easier for those in power, and then some NC members, who disqualified other aspirants, turned around to accept appointments from the current administration. How can an EC official accept an appointment from the ruling party?" described her decision to accept the role as wrong and that his committee would have stopped it if they had prior knowledge of her engagement before exiting office.
"I have engaged Brother Fentuo to dilate on where the NC went wrong with “the mandate” it was given by FIFA.
"Regarding the appointment of Naa Odofoley Nortey of the NC to the GFA," Dr Amoah wrote on his social media account, Twitter with username @amoah_citizen.
He, however, explained that the NC had no prior knowledge of her engagement.
"…it was strictly a matter between her [Naa Odofoley Nortey] and the GFA and the NC, as a committee, had no prior knowledge nor power to stop it; if we did we would have stopped it.
"IT WAS WRONG!," he stated.
"Cc: Naa Odofoley Nortey."

Interestingly, six days to the GFA Elections of 2019, Muftawu Nabila Abdulai reported that Naa Odofoley Nortey was in line to be appointed GFA lawyer to replace Thaddeus Sory of @SoryLaw, but NC Chair says, they were unaware she was in line for such a role.
