Former England assistant manager Franco Baldini has been appointed as the new technical director at Tottenham.
The 52-year-old Italian has recently resigned from his post as general manager at Roma to take over the scouting and transfer policy at White Hart Lane.
Boss Andre Villas-Boas has been keen for the club to go down a more continental route having worked under the same sort of management structure at Porto so he will be delighted with the appointment.
Chairman Daniel Levy Levy said on the club's official website, www.tottenhamhotspur.com: "Franco is extremely well respected in the industry, possessing an extensive knowledge of players around the world. "He will strengthen our football management team, particularly in the field of recruitment, working closely with Andre Villas-Boas and Tim Sherwood across all levels on the playing side."
