Accra, June 1, GNA - The Presidential Committee on Negotiations of Conditions of Service and the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has fixed Tuesday, June 7, for a meeting to deliberate on outstanding issues raised by the association.

A communiqué jointly signed by Mr Baba Jamal Ahmed, the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Brig. Gen. E. Fiawoo, of the Judicial Council and Mr Alex Nartey, the JUSAG President and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday said.

It said: “The parties herein agreed as follows; that the parties are to re-convene on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 to continue with the negotiations, and that the parties are to exchange all relevant documents in order to move forward the negotiations in good faith”.

Meanwhile JUSAG on Wednesday called off its 10-day old industrial action with immediate effect to create room for Government’s Presidential Committee to begin deliberations.

Mr Alex Nartey, the JUSAG President, at a press conference in Accra to call off the strike on June 1, urged members across the country to resume work immediately stressing that the association had concluded on the framework with government and management in addressing their demands.

He said: “In view of the above we are inclined to call off our industrial action effective Wednesday, June 1, to aid government’s Presidential Committee to begin deliberations. We, therefore, appeal to all members of JUSAG to resume work whiles leadership sees to the implementation process of our consolidated salary”.

On May 19 the National Executive Council of JUSAG directed members to withdraw their services with effect from Friday, May 20, 2016 until the Government implements the Judicial Council’s approved consolidated salaries.
