Senior high school girls have been advised to control their high sexual drive in order to avoid teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.
Vice President of the Old Mawuli School Association (OMSU 1990 /92 year group), Mrs. Edith Agbeko, gave the advice during the 32nd year homecoming ceremony.
Mrs. Agbeko noted that students need to understand that there is so much pleasure after school especially if they are able to complete and achieve their dreams.
She said it is necessary for the students to concentrate on the purpose for which they are in school so they can become useful to society.
"It is very necessary for students, especially female students to kill their passion for sexual activities and concentrate on their studies because there is so much sex to be enjoyed after university," Mrs. Edith Agbeko said.
She noted with worry that some girls due to their sexual drive get pregnant which sometimes prevent them from continuing their education, especially those who do not have good support from their families.
She said that with the policy from government to keep pregnant girls in school, it is easier for them to go back to school after giving birth to their babies and with the support from their families and the school.
She added that the passion for sex was created by God but should be done at the right time when they are well established and ready for marriage.
The Headmaster of Mawuli School, Mr. Jonathan K. Adomah, was grateful to the old students for the mentorship programs organized by the 1990 and 1992 year groups for the students as well as the many gifts brought to the school to complement government's efforts.
Some of the students who spoke with the media were happy for the opportunity to be groomed by the group.
