The Vice-Presidential candidate of the rapidly-growing Movement for Change, Kwame Owusu Danso (KOD), launched a scathing attack on the entrenched 'winner-takes-all' political system created by the NDC-NPP duopoly.
Speaking to a massive crowd at the Kojokrom Lorry Station during the Western Region Caravan Campaign Tour, KOD passionately decried the current state of affairs in Ghana, where after 32 years of rotating power between the two parties, citizens are subjected to discrimination and forced to pay bribes to secure basic opportunities.
“It’s outrageous that parents have to sell their clothes and valuables just to pay bribes for their children to join the security services,” KOD lamented. He condemned the entrenched system where, without a party card or ‘protocol,’ it is nearly impossible for young graduates to land decent jobs. “After investing in their children’s education, parents are still made to kowtow before politicians to secure jobs. This is completely unacceptable, and it’s the sad reality under the NDC-NPP political football we’ve been playing for over three decades,” he emphasized.
KOD assured the people of the Western Region that Alan Kyerematen's government would be radically different, giving equal opportunities to all Ghanaians, irrespective of political affiliation. “The era of bribery, corruption, and favouritism will end under Alan Kyerematen.
His government will serve the youth and women of Ghana without bias,” KOD boldly declared, drawing thunderous applause from the crowd.
As the caravan rolled through Sekondi-Takoradi, the atmosphere was charged with excitement. Many residents, disenchanted with both the NPP and NDC, resonated deeply with KOD’s message.
Several prominent figures, previously aligned with either party, publicly pledged to vote ‘skirt and blouse,’ ensuring Alan Kyerematen wins the presidency while supporting different parliamentary candidates. "We are tired of promises. We will vote for Alan Kyerematen for real change," said Auntie Esi Beduwa, a well-known market leader in Kojokrom.
KOD’s charisma and connection with the people of the Western Region, particularly the youth and market women, have been undeniable. His ability to address the most pressing concerns of ordinary Ghanaians has electrified the region. “Everywhere he goes, KOD is met with massive support. His presence is like a breath of fresh air, and he speaks the language of the people,” remarked a political analyst covering the tour.
The Sekondi-Takoradi leg of the Caravan Campaign Tour has been a phenomenal success, with huge crowds gathering at every stop to hear KOD speak. The market women, in particular, have thrown their weight behind him, expressing their frustrations with the current system and pledging their support for Alan Kyerematen’s transformational agenda. "KOD speaks to our hearts. He is as humble and down-to-earth as Alan Cash himself,” said a representative of the traders who spoke on their behalf.
KOD’s influence is expected to grow even further as the Caravan Tour heads to the Nzema and Wassa areas. Political insiders predict an even greater surge in support as his message of hope and equality continues to spread like wildfire. "The energy is undeniable. KOD is a force, and it’s clear that the Western Region is ready to break free from the NDC-NPP stranglehold," commented a local journalist.
With elections fast approaching, the momentum behind Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change is gaining unprecedented traction. KOD’s passionate speeches and personal connection with ordinary Ghanaians are creating a ripple effect that is expected to extend beyond the Western Region.
The people of the twin city have spoken, and the rest of Ghana is listening. Alan Kyerematen’s promise of a government for all is rapidly becoming a beacon of hope in a country weary of political gamesmanship.
