Former league champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko have asked its embattled coach Paa Kwesi Fabian to proceed on a six week leave to enable the team undertake remedial measures against the current abysmal form of the club.
A member of the communication directorate of the Kum apem royals, Ali Maradona, told Asempa FM’s sports programme ‘SPORTS NIGHT’ that Johnson Smith, the assistant to Paa Kwesi Fabian will be handling the club in the absence of the head coach.
Ali Maradona says management will in the meantime seek the services of any coach willing to take Kotoko out of the woods to salvage the image of the former league champions.
He said management is concerned with the state of Kotoko and its position on the Glo Premier League table and that members of management are being threatened on daily basis, hence the current agreement between them and the head coach.
Kotoko on Wednesday afternoon drew with Kpando Hearts of Lions on home turf, much to the displeasure fans of the team.
