The past generation of Asante Kotoko will take on their Hearts of Oak counterparts at the Baba Yara Stadium on Monday, 26th May in the 2nd edition of the clash which has become an annual event.
The match is put together by Broadcast Journalist Anim Addo. The two-legged tie will feature past players of the two Ghana soccer giants.
Kotoko, featuring stars like Joe Debrah, Michael Osei, Prince Polley, Isaac Kwakye, Kofi Abbrey, goalkeeper Samson Appiah among others triumphed in the successful maiden edition against Hearts’ Thomas Quaye, Emmanuel Armah ‘Senegal’, Ayittey Dormon, Sam Johnson, Awuley Quaye Jnr, Mohammed Polo on 5-3 aggregate.
Kotoko won the first leg 3-1, and forced their perennial rivals to a 2-2 drawn game in Accra last year.
And indications are that Hearts of Oak are brimming with vengeance to overturn the maiden edition deficit.
Cool rates of ¢5.00 for VIP and ¢2.00 for centre, upper and lower terrace as well as popular stand would be charged at the gates.
The event, with the sole aim of raising funds to support ‘suffering’ ex players is being sponsored by Cheki.com.gh, Ghana’s number one cars and auto website, KK Peprah Roofing Sheets, Peace and Love Hospital and Deep Natural Mineral Water.
Part of last year’s proceeds went to Agyeman ‘Rambo’ Duah, who is battling stroke.
