The Public Relations Officer of Accra Hearts of Oak Albert Commey has indicated that Kumasi Asante Kotoko were fortunate to have secured a goalless draw in the super clash at the Accra sports stadium at the weekend.
The most-patronized game in the season so far failed to produce a winner in the 50th league game involving the two sides. The match lived up to the hype as the biggest game of the first round of the league but unfortunately did not see any goal.
According to him, if they had utilized the chances that came their way, they would have beaten Kotoko for the three points.
Hearts missed the chance to go on top of the league and are now in third place with 14 points behind Kotoko who are leading the table with 15 points.
In an interview with Asempa sports, Albert Commey stated that, he was optimistic of success ahead of the game but it was unfortunate they drew.
He believes they will travel to Kumasi in the second round to do what they couldn’t do here in Accra.
In a related development, Head Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Maxwell Konadu says his players performed well and deserved something better than the draw.
He told Asempa sports that, if referee Awal Mohammed had protected the players on the day the game would have been one of the best seen so far in the premier league.
He added that Kotoko are doing well in the ongoing league and will not be surprise if they win it.
