The Catholic Archbishop of Kumasi, Peter Akwasi Sarpong has revived the debate about the use of contraceptives.Although the church already forbids condom use, the Archbishop argues that is not enough. He is therefore calling for an outright ban of all contraceptives.Speaking in an interview with Joy FM’s Anny Osabutey, the Catholic Archbishop said it is unnatural for people to interfere in the act of sex.He said the natural contraceptive includes abstinence and also advocated couples to make use of the ‘safe period’ of women if they want to engage in sex.He said rather than using contraceptives people must train themselves to control what their eyes see in order not to be tempted to sex all the time.
