The Kumasi Metropolitan Coordinating Committee (MCC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has given thumbs-up to the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Samuel Sarpong, for exemplary leadership.
They said the MCE has within the relatively short period in office so far helped to put Kumasi on a higher pedestal in terms of development.
Mr Hamidu Mohammed, Chairman of the Committee, said this at a press conference in Kumasi to highlight the achievements of the MCE.
They cited the decongestion of the Central Business District of Adum, relocation of the Anloga wood workers to the Sokoban Wood Village and street illumination in the Metropolis.
The relocation of the wood workers had paved way for the construction of the Oforikrom-Asokwa by-pass.
Mr Hamidu also acknowledged the MCE's efforts at improving the sanitation situation in the area, and said the heaps of refuse were now all gone.
He pledged the Committee's support for Mr Sarpong to enable him to continue with his good works.
