At Juaso in the Asante Akim South constituency, the scene was not different as there were long queues at polling stations the GNA visited. Some election officials who spoke to the GNA said voters had started queuing long before they arrived with the electoral materials. At the Juaso Court Hall polling station, where 774 people are expected to vote, election officials were seen setting up the place as at 0630 hours. However, at Agogo in the Asante Akim North constituency, a thumbprint pad was found among the voting materials, a situation which delayed voting till about 0825 hours. At Kaase M/A Upper Primary and JHS 3 stations, 116 and 150 people respectively had cast their votes as at 0845 hours when the GNA visited the centres. At the Asokwa Workers Canteen polling station, Mr Owusu Manu, the presiding officer, told the GNA that as at 0755 hours, 50 voters had cast their ballots while at the New Agogo centre, over 100 people had voted as at 0815 hours. Mr Seth Nyame and Madam Doris Mensah Tawiah, Presiding Officers at the Asokwa M/A girls and JHS stations respectively, told the GNA that everything was going on orderly and no incidents had been recorded. Various party agents were also present at the stations. At the Peace Preparatory polling station in the Asawase constituency, the Member of Parliament for the area, Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, had cast his vote when the GNA visited the station and as at 0850 hours 18 people had cast their ballots. Mr Asamoah Boadu, the presiding officer said no problem had so far been encountered, saying all things being equal, voting was expected to be peaceful. At the Aboabo number 2 TB polling station, 36 people had cast their ballot. At the Aboabo Number 1 M/A primary ‘A’ polling station, 25 people had voted as at 0915 hours. At the Oforikrom police park polling station, 32 people had voted as at 0925 hours. At the Ayeduase R/C primary polling station, 16 people had voted as at 0815 hours when the GNA visited the station. At the Adansi North District in Ashanti, Madam Mercy Effe Wilson, the District Electoral Officer, told the GNA that voting started at the various polling stations in the two constituencies in the area smoothly at 0700 hours. She said 23,059 registered voters are expected to cast their ballots at Fomena constituency whiles 34,728 eligible voters are also expected to vote at Adansi-Asokwa. Source: GNA
