Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah will not play this year despite reports that he has started training with club side Juventus.
Asamoah has been out for some time now nursing an injury he picked whiles playing for Juve.
Reports from the team’s camp ahead of their game with Pescara over the weekend indicate that the influential Ghana midfielder will not play until 2017.
“Kwadwo Asamoah, a victim of an inflammation of the operated knee. He will return in 2017,” an Italian newspaper reported.
“The extent of the injuries sustained by Daniele Rugani and Kwadwo Asamoah were clarified following medical examinations today,” the club’s statement read last month.
“The tests revealed that Asamoah has ruptured the meniscus cartilage. He is expected to undergo surgery and anticipated to return within around 45 days,” the statement added when the player got injured in September.
