A severe rainstorm at the weekend ripped off the roofs of about 170 buildings at Akyem Wenchi, Soabe and Takrowasi all in the Kwaebibirem District.
The Member of Parliament for the Akwatia constituency, Dr Kofi Asare, has toured some of the affected towns to assess the extent of damage.
He sympathized with the affected people, promising to personally assist them while he sought assistance from other sources to help the people to repair their damage buildings.
He appealed to the government through the National Disaster Management Organization, Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs), and individuals for assistance to help the disaster victims.
Meanwhile, the affected persons are putting up with friends and relatives.Source: GNA
