Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kwesi Nyantakyi has rubbished reports that the Ghana Premier League has been scheduled to start on January 27
According to him, all pending legal matters needs to be sorted before the competition commences.
Reports going round in the media have emerged over the weekend that the organizers of the league, the Premier League Board (PLB) and the GFA have earmarked January 27 as the new date for the start of the delayed 2015/16 season.
Speaking to Asempa Sports, Mr. Nyantakyi disclosed that until the Ethics Committee of the GFA comes out with ruling of the case between Techiman City and Wa Africa United, a date for the kick-off of the league cannot be determined.
“I have not heard of any dates set because we have outstanding issues at the Ethics Committee and until that time we cannot set a date for the start of the league,” he told Asempa Sports
“We have not scheduled a date for the start of the season,” he told Asempa Sports.
Techiman City’s promotion hangs in the balance over bribery claims while Tema Youth are challenging the promotion of Dreams FC at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).
