Officials of the Ghana fire service are currently battling a fire outbreak said to be spreading across the Abeka Lapaz new market in Accra.
The fire was said to have started around 20:00 hrs GMT after lights in the area had been switched back on, after a blackout.
A witness, Patrick Adjei told Joy News the situation is very serious.
According to him, the fire is so severe that it has extended to some few houses nearby.
Personnel of the Fire Service are on hand to put out the inferno.
The Lapaz Market fire is the third in series of fire outbreaks in Accra's markets.
The Madina, and Mallam markets were consumed by fire few weeks ago.
