A senior lecturer with the Koforidua Technical University is promising a well-structured party administration which will ensure that information flows from national to the grassroot level of the NPP when voted to become the next Eastern Regional Secretary of the party.
Mr. Buckman Akuffo has been cleared by the NPP vetting committee to contest after successfully filing his nomination and has been tipped by many to win the poll.
The MBA finance and Statistics holder said the party needs leadership with strategies, and hard working officers, who will be committed to move everywhere to deliver the votes for the NPP in the region to win the next elections.”
Mr Akuffo, who has been a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the past 25 years, promised that if the delegates give him the nod, he would rejuvenate and resource the research department of the party and motivate the communicators in the region to sell the policies of the party.
“I respect people from all walks of life- rich or poor. I would mobilize all groups and stakeholders for a collective victory in 2020 and beyond.”
Buckman Akuffo has been a member of the Regional Coalition Room, Regional Communication Team and Eastern Regional Communication Strategy sub–Committee of the party.
Mr Akuffo served as Director of Communication & Research for Mass Action for Development (MAFOD), a pressure group in the Eastern Region that promotes good governance and economic development.
He was the Polling Station Secretary from 2002 to 2017 at Koforidua Technical University (KTU) & K’dua Sectech ‘A’ Polling Station.
He is expected to battle it out with one Jeff Konadu after the incumbent secretary, Prince Aboagye failed to seek reelection.
Meanwhile, 25 people have been cleared to contest for various positions in the region come April, 21.
