Ghanaians will pay their last respect to two legendary coaches Emmanuel Afranie and Fred Osam Duodu who will be laid to rest on Saturday, 25th February 2017.
Fred Osam Duodu passed way in October last year after a short illness while Afranie died in November last year in a tragic accident.
Osam Duodu will be sent to his hometown Agona Nyakrom for burial and final funeral rites on Saturday, February 25.
And Afranie will be laid to rest at Bonwire in the Ashanti Region, but the final funeral rites will be held at the Heroes Park near the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
Duodu Achievements
In 1993 he won the continental Under-20 title with Ghana before chalking up a first runners-up spot with the team at the World Youth Championship the same year.
The Ghanaian was also Coach of The Gambia when they won the African Under-17 Championship in 2005.
Duodu returned for his final stint as Ghana coach for the 2002 Nations Cup finals campaign in Mali.
Afranie Achievements
Afranie qualified four different Ghanaian national teams to the World Cup- the Black Starlets (1991, 1997), 2001 with the Black Satellites where he won silver, and the Black Queens in 1999.
The death of the two men added to the list of former coaches and technical brains Ghana football has lost in quick succession in the past two years.
‘Sir’ Jones Attuquayefio, Nana Kumi Gyamfi, Ben Koufie and just last Sunday, Coach Sam Arday all died in the last two years.
