Mr Isaac Nsoh Amoah, Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive has stressed the need for the public to collaborate with Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to ensure good sanitation for better health.
He urged the media to educate the public on the importance of maintaining proper sanitation in society.
Mr Amoah made the call when receiving 16 rehabilitated litterbins estimated at about 11,200 Ghana cedis from Gratis Foundation in Bolgatanga.
He expressed concern about the rate of destruction of litterbins with fire that was affecting efforts of the assembly to maintain sanitation in the municipality.
Mr Amoah said the assembly could not afford to spend huge sums of money to rehabilitate litterbins while the money could be channelled into other development projects.
Mr Magtic Dubik, Upper East Regional Director of Gratis Foundation, presenting the litterbins announced that plans were far advanced for the Foundation to manufacture litterbins for the management of Zoomlion to help maintain sanitation in the Region.Source: GNA
