Right Reverend Dr Livingston Komla Buama, outgoing moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church, Ghana, has advised Ghanaians to stop the blame game and do their best with what they have for the country.
“People who bury their talents or refuse to use them are those who mostly blame others for their predicaments,” he said.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Buama gave the advice in a sermon on theme: “Duty Conscious”, at the centenary celebration of the Klefe E.P. Church near Ho at the weekend.
The church founded in 1808, celebrated the centenary under the theme: “I shall not die, but live and proclaim the works of the Lord”.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Buama said, with tenacity of purpose everybody could do “extra-ordinary things with ordinary things”.
“What we need as a nation is attitudinal change, which can make a great difference in our lives”, Rt. Rev Dr Buama said.
Referring to the theme, he exhorted the people of Klefe saying “let us celebrate it and let us live every moment of it in the most fruitful and fulfilling way possible”.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Buama said the celebration should transcend purely outward ceremonial observances and empty merry-making.
Togbe Afele Dzaga X, Paramount Chief of Klefe Traditional Area appealed to his subjects to have a new vision of strengthening their moral and Christian values and do away with outmoded customs to reduce ignorance and poverty in the area.
A GH¢30,000 Guest house built by the church and busts of the Very Rev. Japhet Ledo, former moderator of the Church, Rt. Rev. Dr. Buama and Cathechist Egmund Dikro, all citizens of Klefe were dedicated.
Over 150 people who also contributed to the growth of the church in the town were also honoured.
An appeal for funds yielded GH¢41,400.
