Not everyone likes confrontation . It can get messy, de-rail your good mood and leave you a spluttering, red-faced mess.
Whether it's with a difficult neighbour , a tricky colleague, partner or family member, it's not always easy to conjure up the perfect comeback.
While it's not always practical, in these instances there's nothing like an icily polite note to get your point across - and maintain your dignity.
Just make sure you have the same devastatingly aloof turn-of-phrase as young Owen.
"I am mad at you."
The little lad left the missive on his bedroom door. Clearly mad at his mother, he made his feelings perfect clear with regards to being tucked in for the night.

It's not clear what Owen's mum did - but it must be something pretty bad to merit this stern telling-off. After all, revoking a mum's right to tuck her child in is a pretty big deal.
The note, posted to Reddit , reads:
"Mommy,
"Don’t come read with me.
"I am mad at you and I will tuck my own self in.
"Senserly, Owen."
No red face, no anguish when you remember all the things you should have said instead. Just a straightforward, but no less effective letter.
You tell' em, Owen!
