There is temporal hold up here at Hohoe at the Volta Region NPP delegates congress after the EC stated it has been served an injunction on the election for the Regional Chairman elections hence would not supervise elections for the Chairman position but would go ahead with the other positions.
Fred Kwame Asare reports, this brought controversy to the hall with some party members proposing the party should go ahead to organise the Chairman elections.
This suggestion was shot down by some aspirants indicating the EC must supervise all the elections.
The EC has thus packed its logistics out of the hall.

Thousands of delegates of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) across the country are voting to elect Regional Officers to lead the party for the next four years.
The regional elections which are expected to end on Tuesday, April 24, will pave the way for the national election of the party’s national officers ahead of the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.
Accra
Over 700 delegates are expected to converge at the Trade Fair Centre, La to decide who lead the party. There about 54 persons contesting various positions in the party in the region.

JoyNews’ Kwesi Parker-Wilson reports, Mayor of Accra, Mohammed Adjei Sowah has charged those who would emerge victorious to ensure they increase the number of seats of the NPP in the region.
Those vying for the chairmanship slot include: Greater Accra Regional Coordinator of National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO); Archibald Cobbina, Acting Regional Chairman; Mr Alfred Boye as well as Chief Executive Officer of Standard Water, Divine Agatumi.
Volta

Earlier, the regional executives had claimed they had not been served and decided to go ahead.
Correspondent Fred Kwame Asare reports, the executives insist no injunction has been served on them hence the decision to go ahead.
“As you can see the aspirants are trouping in…and the elections will follow very soon. The injunction has not been directed to any particular organisation; neither the party office in Ho here nor the Head office in Accra,” acting Regional Chairperson, Esther Edjiani stated.

Chairman of the elections committee, Kwasi Adu-Gyan says they are going ahead with the polls despite being served a court injunction until the final determination of a case involving delegates of Atebubu/Amantin constituency which is scheduled for May 11, 2018.
“Atebubu alone cannot hold back the whole region as we require at least one-third (1/3) to form a quorum for our Congress,” Adu-Gyan told correspondent Precious Semevoh.
Ashanti
The elections in Ashanti Region delayed for almost three hours, according to Nyira FM’s Nana Yaw. The reason was that the air conditioners in the auditorium where the polls were to take place, were not working.
The process, however, got underway soon after the technical challenge was resolved, he added.
Eastern
In the Eastern Region, Maxwell Kudekor reports 644 delegates are taking part in the exercise.
In all, 19 persons are vying for various positions while six of the contestants are running unopposed.
