The University of Ghana is hosting World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim and several high-level opinion leaders from the public and private sectors to reflect on two ambitious goals: ending extreme poverty by 2030, and boosting shared prosperity among the poorest 40 % of the population in developing countries.
The “Shared Prosperity Forum” will be run Davos-style and will be moderated by Lerato Mbele of the BBC.
The event is part of a push ahead of October 17, which is End Poverty Day, a commemorative day observed by the United Nations, the World Bank Group and many partners striving to end extreme poverty.
