The Accra Central Police is holding a suspected arsonist caught around 2am Monday pouring kerosene at some shops at Makola.
The suspect was arrested and handed to the Accra Central Police station by some security men stationed at the shop.
Joy News' Samuel Obeng Apaah is at the Police station and reported, the suspect is a female but her identity is yet to be made public.
The Managing Director of the market, Margeret Kpodo claimed the suspect shouted in Ga, she would burn down the market shortly after she was arrested.
According to her, the suspect acted as though she was mentally unstable.
Police are investigating the matter and are yet to make comments.
The arrest of this new suspect follows series of market fires that plagued the country last year.
Some of the fires were believed to have been caused by arsonists some of whom were arrested with prosecution said to be ongoing.
