Stephen Anim, a 22-year-old unemployed was on Tuesday, arrested by the Dansoman police in Accra for possessing three voter identity (ID) cards all bearing his photograph but with different registration numbers and names.
Superintendent Alex Yartey Tawiah, the acting Dansoman Divisional P6liee Commander, briefing the Times on Wednesday said: "Anim was originally arrested for assaulting a friend at Dansoman Last Stop but during a search on him before being placed in police custody, the three voters ID cards were found on him.
Supt. Yartey- Tawiah said investigations revealed that when Anim was 18 years, he registered at Niiboi Town, a suburb of Accra, with the name" Anim Stephen and a registration number 17267397 HH.
Anim also had in his possession a second ID card registered at the Licensing Office centre under the name Stephanila Anim, aged 20, with registration number 22850273 FB
The third card bearing the name Evans Safo Adu with registration number 2.1781653 GB, was also obtained at the Licensing Office with the age as 33 years old.
