A young man believed to be in his early 20s allegedly committed suicide Monday morning at Paraku Estates at Achimota in Accra.
Residents found the lifeless body of the man whose name was given only as Kwamena, hanging on a tree.
Joy News’ Michaela Anderson visited the scene and reported that the strong stench emanating from where the body which was hanging, attracted a lot of people to the place, including her.
She observed that people gathered there were in utter shock and were wondering what might have influenced him to commit suicide. Others who could not come to terms with his sudden death were heard murmuring, suspecting a foul play.
The deceased was wearing a white shirt, black and white stripped trousers with a pair of black sandals.
Persons who knew him told Michaela he used to work as a head porter at the Dome Market.
One of his brothers who gave his name as Mumuni, looking devastated, said it had been a long time since he saw the late brother.
The Crime Officer at the Mile 7 District Police, DSP Henry Agbeve told Joy News his outfit would investigate the cause of his death.
