A young man is reported to have hacked his girlfriend to death and poisoned himself after the murder.Kwadwo Agyiri from Aburi reportedly stabbed 30 year old Esther Asiedua, from Aburi Gyankama, to death at about 1am on Tuesday November 27, 2012 in the couple’s home at Aburi Gyankama in the Eastern Region.The murderer then drank poison and has been confirmed dead at the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital at Mampong Akuapem.Father of the lady victim, Osei Kwadwo confirmed the deaths to listeners on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show, Tuesday.
She had one child.According to Osei Kwadwo, Agyiri attempted to set fire to the room to cover up his gruesome act but his younger brother, who saw him stuffing a blood soaked bed sheet into his car boot, raised the alarm.Giving the background to the murder, Osei Kwadwo and his wife, who live in Accra, said about a week ago, Kwadwo Agyiri asked him to talk to his daughter because she was threatening to leave him. Osei said after talking to the couple, he had not heard of any quarrels until he was informed at dawn that his daughter had died.The police have since sent the body to the mortuary for autopsy.
