Former Ghana U-20 goalkeeper Daniel Agyei has promised to help Simba SC win laurels after completing a one year switch to the Tanzanian club on Wednesday.
Agyei, who guided Medeama to a fourth finish last season in the Ghana Premier League and played key role in the Tarkwa-based side fantastic showing in the CAF Confederation Cup this year, has decided to seek new challenge elsewhere, opting for the East African country.
He expressed his delight following a warm reception given to him by the club's supporters and promised to play a major role to ensure they win titles.
“I feel good about the reception from the supporters and they are friendly too. I haven’t met the players and the coaches,” Agyei told Soka25east.com.
“I am here to win trophies and also play Africa Champions League. I know the fans I have seen here know what I can do for the club. I will give my best for the team,” he added.
Agyei, who won 2009 World Youth Championship with Ghana, will have to double his efforts before he can earn a starting role in Joseph Omog's team. He will face stiff opposition from Juma Kaseja and Ally Mtinge Mustapha.
The Ghanaian boasts of five appearances for the Black Stars and has previously had stints with Liberty Professionals and South African Premier Soccer League side Free State Stars.
He becomes the fourth Ghanaian player to play in Tanzania this season, after Yahaya Mohammed, Samuel Afful and Enoch Atta Agyei, who joined rivals Azam FC.
