A tomato seller who is also a nursing mother met her untimely death after a heavy metal fell on her from a high-rise building under construction at Makola, Thursday.
Akweley, believed to be in her thirties was seated by the fence of the construction site when the metal fell.

A trader who witnessed the incident said they saw three of the workers at the construction site up the building.

I blame the workers at the site, I saw three of them carrying the heavy metal to the top and I could see it was too heavy and outweighed them so they left it, one of the traders said in Twi.

It landed straight on her head and she was bleeding from the nose. We tried to get her to the hospital but she was gone, another added in a wobbly voice.
The deceased was a single mother of two with an 8-months old baby and a six-year-old child, according to the traders.
The traders pleaded with the construction firm to shift working hours on the project to evenings.
Meanwhile, there was a warning on the fence of the site to pedestrians and traders to keep off the area.
