Management of Metro Mass Transit company says it has intensified its war on revenue leakages in the company particularly ticket malpractices.
MMT says though the company’s buses are busy working daily, the sales they make do not commiserate with the services they render.
According to the company some of the drivers and conductors take monies from commuters in respect of their fares and luggage’s without giving them valid tickets.
MMT says it has so far dismissed over 300 workers in that light whilst others are pending before disciplinary committee. The head of Public Relations at MMT, Nuwokpor Washington says such acts are having a toll on the company’s operations.
He told Joy News that the company has set up a national revenue inspection team to replace former inspectors since they have become familiar with bus conductors and drivers.
He also said the war is not just on bus operators but also an in-house cleaning to avert any further losses to the company.
