Metropolitan Life Insurance says it is now well-positioned to pay insurance claims faster and also introduce new business processes to the benefit of clients.
This follows its parent company’s merger with Momentum Group into MMI Holdings which has increased its capitalization to about 51billion USD. The merger would also see the Momentum health Insurance now rebrand to Metropolitan Health Insurance as one of the group’s brands in addition to Metropolitan Life and Metropolitan Pensions Trust.
The CEO of the Group, A.J Kruger explained to JOY BUSINESS the merger is geared towards maximizing the benefits of their services to consumers.
“The merger in South Africa between the Momentum Group and Metropolitan Group created a financial services giant. Momentum had a health business in Ghana whilst Metropolitan had a Life Insurance and Pensions business in Ghana. And merging the two businesses in Ghana, we had to choose a client-facing brand that our clients can associate with and the client-facing brand for our African operations is Metropolitan. Therefore we’re together to announce the change of Momentum Health that has been operating here for six years and that of Metropolitan Health to create an entry into life, health or pensions businesses for the clients of metropolitan”
He also reiterated the mission of Metropolitan is to create wealth for Africa’s people.
‘We have access to more resources with the bigger financial groups backing our Ghanaian operations we also have more access to people, technology and capital and that can benefit the business.’ Mr. Kruger noted that with our experience spanning over a century, about 116 years of providing solutions in financial services, ensuring your financial wellness and delivering innovative products, you can be assured that we would offer you nothing but the best of financial solutions and great service” he said.
AJ Kruger also hinted that Metropolitan is progressing steadily with its plans to introduce a general insurance business within the shortest time.
“Clients and service providers present expressed their satisfaction with the business relationship with Momentum Health and hoped that the rebranding will offer even more mutually satisfying benefits to all. They praised the level of professionalism with which their concerns are dealt with and encouraged others to emulate Metropolitan” he said.
